Another crash at Indy for Larson

NASCAR star Kyle Larson crashed for the second time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The 2021 Cup champion was uninjured in the incident at Turn 3 where the No. 17 Arrow McLaren/Hendrick Motorsports Chevy turned in and had more grip from the front of the car than expected and lost the rear. The crash followed his spin and crash in Turn 1 during the April Indy Open Test.

The front and rear of the No. 17 made contact before it came to a stop. Larson was on his third lap of the day when it happened, and with heavy gusts of wind at the time of the shunt, stable and predictable handling might not have been available.

“I'm OK, yeah, just had a lot of front grip there in three so just kind of felt it come around,” Larson said. “And it comes around quick as it does that. So, yeah, bummer. But I don't know what it was. In the test I did with the right front and today I backed it. I'm not too worried about it. I think we'll be fine.”
