NASCAR awards banquet moves to Charlotte
The season-ending NASCAR Awards banquet will take place in Charlotte, N.C. All three NASCAR national series champions will be honored on Friday, Nov. 22, at the Charlotte Convention Center, which is next to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The CW will broadcast the event on Sunday, Nov. 24, from 3:00-5:00pm ET.
“We are pleased to announce our move to the Queen City for our postseason celebrations,” said Michelle Byron, EVP, chief partnerships and licensing officer at NASCAR. “Being able to trace many of the sport’s racing roots back to the North Carolina area, you can feel the energy and passion for NASCAR from the fans in Charlotte. We’re excited to officially crown our champions in the Queen City.”
This will be the first time the awards banquet has been held in Charlotte. It was most recently located in Nashville, Tenn. (2019-2023). Other locations that have hosted the annual event were Las Vegas (2009-18) and New York City (1981-2008).
NASCAR will also host a celebration for the regional and international series champions for the second consecutive year in conjunction with the national series awards banquet. It will take place on Thursday, Nov. 21, and honor those in the ARCA Menards Series, ARCA Menards Series East and West, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series, NASCAR Brasil Series, NASCAR Canada Series, NASCAR Mexico Series and NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
