IndyCar drops Paddock Club in favor of on-site hospitality

The NTT IndyCar Series' Paddock Club hospitality unit will disappear from event paddocks in 2024 as the series looks to make greater use of on-site facilities.

The unit (pictured above in 2018), which was used for series VIP entertainment, as a meeting venue, and for IndyCar staff catering during events, has been a regular paddock fixture for several years. However upgrades to on-site corporate facilities at several tracks, coupled with the large-scale hospitality suites managed by partners such as Hy-Vee in Iowa, have lessened the need for IndyCar's portable facility. In many cases these suites also offer better vantage points for guests than the Paddock Club, which was not designed for spectating.

"As suite experiences have been recently upgraded at several IndyCar Series events, the decision was made to take greater advantage of those opportunities," a series spokesperson told RACER.

"Benefits include proximity to the pits and pre-race ceremonies, in addition to supporting our promoters at the same time."
