Hendrick Motorsports to enter 10 Xfinity Series races
Hendrick Motorsports will enter its No. 17 Chevrolet in 10 NASCAR Xfinity Series races this season.
HendrickCars.com will be the primary sponsor on the car and all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers will get time behind the wheel. Boris Said will also return for another start.
“The No. 17 is a big part of our story, and it would be special to see it win – and win often -- during our 40th anniversary season,” Rick Hendrick said. “The sponsorship has been a big success for HendrickCars.com and our dealerships, and we’re pleased to add more races and take it to another level in 2024. It’s victory lane or bust.”
William Byron will run four races in the No. 17 with Brandon McSwain serving as his crew chief. McSwain is the lead engineer on Byron’s No. 24 Cup Series team. Greg Ives will be the team’s crew chief in the other six races.
The 10 races for the Hendrick Motorsports team will be:
March 9: Phoenix Raceway (Byron)
March 23: Circuit of the Americas (Kyle Larson)
May 11: Darlington Raceway (Byron)
May 25: Charlotte Motor Speedway (Chase Elliott)
June 8: Sonoma Raceway (Said)
June 22: New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Alex Bowman)
July 6: Chicago street course (Larson)
July 13: Pocono Raceway (Byron)
Aug. 31: Darlington Raceway (Elliott)
Sept. 14: Watkins Glen (Byron)
The organization ran six Xfinity Series races last season with Larson, Elliott, Rajah Caruth, Byron, and Bowman. Said failed to qualify for the Charlotte Roval race due to a mechanical issue.
