VIDEO: Barrett-Jackson Houston Auction Raises $1 Million for Honor Flight Network

One of the many "great moments” at Barrett-Jackson’s Inaugural Houston Auction, Sept. 16-18, was Saturday’s charity auction of a 1956 Chevrolet 150, which ultimately raised $1 million for

Honor Flight Network

, a national network of independent groups working together to honor our nation’s veterans with all-expenses paid trip to the memorials in Washington, D.C.

Charitable auctions are a mainstay at Barrett-Jackson events as the auction company has helped raise over $135 million for non-profit organizations to date. This particular auction was a memorable one as generous bidders opened up their hearts in support of our nation’s veterans and their families. This Chevrolet 150 was initially sold for $425,000 on Saturday afternoon, and was immediately donated back, igniting a second round of bidding that raised an additional $400,000. Another generous bidder pledged $175,000 at the event, bringing the total raised to $1 million benefiting HFN.
