SCCA Runoffs to return to IMS in 2021
The first time was such a success that the Sports Car Club of America and Indianapolis Motor Speedway are getting back together.
It was announced Saturday that the SCCA National Championship Runoffs will return to IMS in 2021.
"We felt pretty sure the Runoffs at the Speedway would be a hit with road racing competitors, but that event exceeded even our wildest dreams," said Mike Cobb, the SCCA/president and CEO whose group will run Sept. 25-Oct. 3. "It was the largest event in Runoffs history and produced both great racing and great memories."

The Indy SCCA weekend in 2017 drew a record 969 entries. The old mark was 709.
"For many of us, the Indy 500 and Indianapolis Motor Speedway were the spark that ignited our dreams and passion," said Eric Prill, the SCCA Vice President who also won the 2017 F Production title.
This year's Runoffs are being staged at Virginia International Raceway, Oct. 8-13.
