Rosenqvist suffers crash setback in Indy practice
Chip Ganassi Racing rookie Felix Rosenqvist spun and clouted the walls exiting Turn 2 late in Wednesday’s practice session for the Indianapolis 500.
The Swedish driver was following in close proximity to Harding Steinbrenner Racing’s Colton Herta entering Turn 2 and appeared to place his left-front tire too close to the grass and spun the No. 10 Honda.
The 27-year-old hit the outside wall and ricocheted into the inside barrier, causing damage to most of the car’s extremities.
“I’m good,” he said of his physical condition after exiting the infield care center. “I was following Colton and trying to run in traffic and felt a sudden change. It went loose really fast. I’m not sure if I was down on the curb. It looks like I was. It probably explains it. It’s a shame.”

Rosenqvist became the second driver of the event, and second of the day, to hammer the wall after McLaren Racing’s Fernando Alonso earned the unfortunate distinction of being first to crash.
