Alfa Romeo and Red Bull appear in race liveries

Red Bull and Alfa Romeo have both appeared in their 2019 race liveries during the opening day of pre-season testing in Barcelona.

Both teams ran their new cars in temporary color schemes during shakedowns last week, with the Alfa Romeo in a special Valentine’s Day livery. Images of the C38 were released after its track running at Fiorano, but on Monday morning the team rolled out the new car in front of the media for the first time.

The Alfa Romeo features a similar livery to last season, with a white front half to the car while the more traditional Alfa maroon makes up the engine cover and rear. The livery was unveiled by 2019 race drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi, with Raikkonen driving on the opening day and duly spinning into the gravel at Turn 5 after only five minutes to bring out the red flags for the first time.

Just as Raikkonen had his off, Max Verstappen was attempting to join the track in the Red Bull that features a similar livery to last season. The team has stuck with its traditional colors, and retains the matte paint that has since also been used by Ferrari.

The 2019 Racing Point car has also appeared on track for the first time with Sergio Perez behind the wheel. The front of the car carries a close resemblance to last year’s design, with a large amount of evolution expected during the early part of the year.
