5-race deal for Kimball at Carlin
NTT IndyCar Series veteran Charlie Kimball will compete in five races for Carlin Racing in 2019 as teammate to Max Chilton.
The Californian enters his ninth IndyCar season facing a significant reduction in sponsorship.
Backed by Novo Nordisk throughout the majority of his open-wheel career, the winner of the 2013 Mid-Ohio IndyCar race has selected St. Petersburg, the Indianapolis 500; Texas Motor Speedway, Pocono Raceway, and the season finale at his home state WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for an abbreviated campaign in the No. 23 Chevy.
Although unconfirmed by Carlin, Kimball could share the team’s second entry with Florida’s RC Enerson, who is testing the No. 23 today in Monterey, and again next week at Circuit of The Americas.
