Following Tuesday’s announcement of NTT signing on as the IndyCar Series’ new title sponsor, two of the venues on its 2019 calendar have joined in with new sponsors confirmed for their events.
IndyCar’s return to one of its classic circuits will take place as the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca after the series’ official tire partner came to terms with the facility and its owner, Monterey County.
“Firestone is a time-tested brand with a rich tradition in open wheel racing, making it the perfect match for INDYCAR’s return to this iconic road course,” said Lisa Boggs, Bridgestone Americas’ director of motorsports, of the September 20-22 championship finale. “With this new sponsorship, Firestone now will help deliver great events for fans when the NTT IndyCar Series season goes green in St. Petersburg and crosses the finish line in Monterey – while continuing to provide world-class tire technology for every lap in between.”
Road America, another historic venue on the IndyCar schedule, has partnered with specialty vehicle supplier REV on the REV Group Grand Prix held June 21-23.
“REV is excited to be the title sponsor of the NTT IndyCar Series event at Road America,” said Tim Sullivan, President and CEO of REV Group, “Road America is one of North America’s premier road courses, and a proud part of our community. Motorsports is an effective platform for REV to connect with our customers and showcase the technology, engineering and quality we put into our vehicles. We are using the REV Group Grand Prix at Road America to pay tribute to first responders, sharing our appreciation for the dedicated people who use our vehicles each day to serve their communities.”
