IMS to honor 50th anniversary of Mario Andretti's 500 win in May
Mario Andretti has been the Indianapolis 500's best ambassador for six decades, so IMS is honoring the 1969 winner on the 50th anniversary of his only Indy 500 victory.

Some of the month of May plans to honor Andretti include an IMS Museum exhibit of historic Andretti cars and video and audio recordings of Mario and the family; a 50th anniversary logo with the zero (in the 50) representing the oval and the start-finish line and the badge honoring the Andretti family crest; Andretti's likeness on the silver and bronze badges that allow access to the Gasoline Alley garage area; and officially licensed Mario Andretti and IMS merchandise, including apparel, headwear, replicas, jewelry, wall décor, collectibles and other special items available for purchase.
