Wickens tops Mid-Ohio test
Two days after his first podium finish in front of the home Toronto Indy crowd, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ Robert Wickens topped a mixed group of Chevy and Honda runners at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Tuesday.
The test, held prior to next week’s Verizon IndyCar Series event at the beloved road course, featured multiple trips onto the grass for some drivers. The most notable was championship leader Scott Dixon who had offs in the morning and afternoon, with the final incident causing damage against the barriers. His Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Ed Jones and Meyer Shank Racing's Jack Harvey also made contact of their own during the test.
Pietro Fittipaldi also made his return behind the wheel of an Indy car, and after two solid months of rehab, the Dale Coyne Racing driver is expected to make his racing return at Mid-Ohio.
