Boccolacci disqualified from GP3 race win

Following Saturday’s GP3 Series Race 1 at the French circuit of Paul Ricard, it was found that cars 22 and 24 were unable to provide an inadequate fuel sample following post-race technical checks. The stewards determined that the MP Motorsport team failed to ensure that the mandatory one-liter fuel sample could be taken from both cars in accordance with the Technical Regulations.

As a consequence, both Dorian Boccolacci and Niko Kari have been disqualified from Race 1 having breached the regulations. Anthoine Hubert (pictured) therefore was awarded the victory of Race 1, with ART Grand Prix teammate Nikita Mazepin moving up to second, while Giuliano Alesi takes third. Juan Manuel Correa and Jake Hughes have also been promoted into the points.

With the changes in position, Callum Ilott will now begin Sunday’s Race 2 from the reverse-grid pole, alongside Joey Mawson on the front row of the grid.
