Porsche out front as LM24 halfway mark approaches

There are 13 hours to go at Le Mans, and a sole Porsche leads the way, the only LMP1 car having a clean run. Nick Tandy in the No. 1 can now take it relatively easy, with an eight-lap lead over the LMP2 cars behind.

The events during the hour resulted in Toyota having just one car left running

– the No. 8 – which after major repairs is down in 52nd place.

LMP2's lead battle is now of real focus, with the No. 31 Rebellion ORECA now second overall, Nicolas Prost holding a 45-second lead over Mathias Beche in the sister No. 13 car.

Third is still the No. 38 Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA. Behind, though, is the No. 40 GRAFF 07 Gibson. A clean run from the French team's lead prototype has seen Richard Bradley move into pole position for a podium spot should anything happen to the cars ahead.

GTE Pro, with the safety car neutralizing the field, has seen the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari take control, with James Calado leading by just 1.6 seconds over the No. 97 Aston Martin. The No. 95 sister Vantage GTE is now third, ahead of the best placed Porsche – now the No. 91.

GTE Am is the only class which hasn't seen a major set of position changes over the past hour. The JMW Ferrari has almost a lap lead on the No. 77 Proton Porsche, which is just 5.1 seconds ahead of the TF Sport Aston Martin, that lost a chunk of time during its last stops.
