Lime Rock Park Historic Festival 35 charged with horsepower and style

Spirited historic racing and spectacular collector cars combine for a charged four-day celebration at the annual

Lime Rock Park Historic Festival

This year's August 31- September 4 Historics marks its 35th year and the 60th anniversary of Lime Rock Park, with such highlights as hosting the Formula Junior Diamond Jubilee World Tour. Ray Mallock, retired British endurance race driver, will join the meet in a front-engined Junior constructed by his father in-period. Among the additional special guests are esteemed car collector Bruce Meyer and Richard Attwood, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Monte Carlo Formula Junior race victor.

The celebration revs up with the traditional Vintage Race and Sports Car Parade on August 31. Drivers from around the world will test their historic racecars over three days of spirited competition on September 1, 2 and 4. Entrants are invited to register

Among the features is a "Tin-Top" Race Group, drawing owners of saloons and tin-tops to create a grid of pre-1970 racing sedans in the manner of Goodwood's "St. Mary's Trophy" cars: Ford Galaxies, BMWs, Mini Coopers, Lotus Cortinas, Anglias, Alfa Romeo 1600s, Jaguar Mk2s, Hillman Imps, Firehawk cars and the like.

The Sunday in the Park Concours d'Elegance showcases approximately 200 rare and unique cars from the Brass Era to modern as well as motorcycles, and the Gathering of the Marques lines the track with 1,000 cars grouped by make, country of origin or enthusiast club. Click

Nominated by the International Historic Motoring Awards as Motorsports Event of the Year 2016, Historic Festival Chairman Murray Smith lauds the program's "uniqueness in featuring splendid racing for important and historic cars and a world-class Concours d'Elegance at the same site on the same weekend."
