33 cars expected for Indy Open Test, set to stream live on YouTube

Next week’s Indy Open Test will be livestreamed on the IndyCar Series’ YouTube channel.

The Tuesday-Wednesday outing for Indianapolis 500 entries on the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval is expected to have 33 cars and drivers in attendance. RACER understands the 33rd and final entry for Katherine Legge to be fielded by AJ Foyt Racing is close to being finalized and, if all facets of the program are signed in time, the Briton would be expected to take part in the two-day test.

The schedule for Tuesday provides a five-minute window for installation checks from 10-10:05am ET before approved veterans take to the track for lapping from 10:05am-12pm. Rookies and returning drivers in need of completing refresher runs have the track from 12-2pm, and for all of those who pass their rookie tests and refreshers, the 2-6pm outing for all approved drivers will close the day.

Wednesday opens with a two-hour run from 10am-12pm for all cars and continues after a one-hour break for the closing session from 1-5pm; teams will be allowed to conduct pit stop practice during the final hour on Wednesday.
