Just a month ago, ANSA Motorsports and its drivers made an historic debut at Sebring International Raceway, winning rounds 1 and 2 of the 2017 IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda series. Now ANSA Motorsports, current 2017 team-championship leader, travels to Alabama to compete in rounds 3 and 4 of the 2017 IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda series at Barber Motorsports Park, located a few miles east of Birmingham, Alabama.

For this double header that will take place on April 21-22 on the same track and the same weekend as the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, ANSA Motorsports is fielding one Ligier JS P3 race car in the LMP3 class for driver Matt Dicken from Louisville, Kentucky.

Nico Jamin, who raced a Ligier JS P3 and won the two inaugural IMSA LMP3 races in North America for ANSA Motorsports in dominant fashion at Sebring, is not able to compete, since he is focusing this weekend on his primary 2017 Indy Lights championship program, also to be raced at Barber.

With two top-ten results scored at Sebring, Dicken, who is ANSA Motorsports 2017 full-season driver, is ready for the Barber event, where he will drive the No. 4 ANSA Motorsports Ligier JS P3 in the LMP3 class. Dicken likes Barber and believes that his Ligier will be a very good car for the 17-turn Alabama 2.38-mile road course.

“I am excited to be back in the ANSA Motorsports Ligier JSP3 this week at Barber Motorsports Park,” Dicken said. “The track is very technical; I haven’t raced there, but Barber is where I completed my Porsche Sports Driving schools, so I have spent some time on the track. We are looking to build on our two top-10 finishes at Sebring and are confident we can finish a little further up the grid. It should be a great event for the fans, and I am really excited to be there racing the same weekend as the IndyCar series.”
