NASCAR video: Kyle Busch punches Logano
Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas
, upset that a potential top-five finish disappeared like a desert mirage on the final lap of the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. On the final lap, the two were battling on the backstretch when Busch dove down to get around a slowing Keselowski. Logano slid up into the Busch, sening the No. 18 in a long spin through Turns 3 and 4. While Logano finished fourth, Busch wound up stopped on pit road with a 22nd-place finish. And upon climbing from his car made a beeline for Logano.

Busch took a swing at Logano, which resulted in Busch on the bottom of a pile of Team Penske and Joe Gibbs Racing crew members. He emerged with a bloodied forehead.
“I got dumped,” Busch said. “Flat out just drove straight in the corner and wrecked me. That’s how Joey races, so he’s going to get it.”
Logano said he’s never had an issue with Busch and the contact was not intentional. However, Logano felt the incident started because of his slowing teammate, Keselowski. Something soured on Keselowski’s machine, which dropped him off the pace as Logano and Busch came storming down the backstretch.
The two dove to the inside of Keselowski and charged into Turn 3, which is where Logano slid up and bounced off Busch.
“We were racing hard there at the end,” Logano said. “I was underneath him on the backstretch, and he tried to crash me into the corner getting underneath Brad there, and at that point, I was just trying to get through the corner. I was sideways all the way through and got into him.
“Nothing intentional. I understand his frustration, he crashed. The same thing could have happened into (Turn) 3 what he did to me.”
Logano said he saw Busch coming toward him after the race, but he doesn’t run from conflict.
“You just talk about it, but he wasn’t in a talking mood,” Logano said. “He was in a fighting mood, I guess. I don’t know. Typically, you can handle this stuff like men and talk about it. You don’t have to fight, but whatever.”
