Jarvis, Brundle for Jackie Chan DC Racing LMP2 squad

Jackie Chan DC Racing, which will race in partnership with Jota Sport in the 2017 World Endurance Championship, has announced the driver line-up for its pair of ORECA 07 LMP2 cars.

Headlining the two trios are successful British drivers Oliver Jarvis – the current Bentley GT3 factory driver who is fresh from the Audi LMP1 program – and Alex Brundle, who won multiple races with G-Drive Racing/Jota Sport in LMP2 last season.

Joining Brundle in the No. 37 ORECA will be team owner David Cheng and ex-Eurasia LMP2 driver and Champ Car driver Tristan Gommendy. Team regular Ho-Pin Tung – who anchored its successes in the Asian Le Mans Series (pictured above) – and young Frenchman Thomas Laurent will join Jarvis in the No. 38.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for me to race with DC Racing in 2017. I kept a good relationship with Sam Hignett and the Jota crew after my performances with them last year, and thus have been rewarded with a drive," Brundle, who has years of prototype experience including appearances in IMSA's United SportsCar Championship, told RACER.

"This is my second full season in the FIA WEC. It's going to be difficult, as everyone is in the same machinery, which really keeps us drivers on our toes, but also because the competition is so strong.

"There's nobody on the entry I feel is weak, and at the same time no favorites either. Jota and DC Racing have put tougher a great team though, and my teammates are all quick. We have a real chance of winning races, the title and of course Le Mans."

"I was delighted to get the Bentley deal, but this really completes my program," Jarvis (pictured) added. "Le Mans is a big draw for me – I didn't want to miss it, it's been a big part of my life for the last five years and now so to still have a drive where I feel I can win it is important.

"I've never driven an LMP2 car, but I have seen them up close at the Jota Sport factory. The cars look incredible and while it's a P2 car, you could badge it as a P1 and few would realize.

"I'm looking forward to the pure driving – the LMP1s are fantastic with the tech they have, but they were incredibly complex in the cockpit. The LMP2 cars are pure motorsport – you can just get in a drive."

2017 is a year of change for both Jota Sport and DC Racing. Last year Jota raced with G-Drive Racing and scored three LMP2 wins at the end of the season, while DC Racing competed in partnership with LMP2 champion Signatech Alpine, the French outfit running DC Racing's ORECA as its second car.
