
Stenhouse paces final Daytona practice
All that's left is to race the 59th annual Daytona 500.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was fastest in final practice Saturday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway with a lap of 198.452mph. He was the fastest of seven Fords that made up the top 10, including the first six positions.
Joey Logano was second fastest at 196.751mph, Brad Keselowski was third fastest at 196.747mph, Kevin Harvick was fourth fastest at 196.726mph, and Kurt Busch was fifth fastest at 196.700mph.
There were no incidents during the 1 hour, 25-minute session.
The remainder of the top 10 were Clint Bowyer (196.674mph), Elliott Sadler (196.584mph), Ryan Blaney (196.571mph), Michael McDowell (196.447mph) and Kasey Kahne (196.365mph).
Polesitter Chase Elliott was 21st fastest in the session at 194.192 mph. His Hendrick Motorsports teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr., who will start second Sunday, was 19th fastest at 194.473mph.
Only 28 of the 40 car field participated in the session.
