ROC: Fan vote winners announced

Canada's Stefan Rzadzinski (pictured) and Argentina's Gabriel Glusman won the "ROC Factor" social media fan vote to secure rides alongside two IndyCar stars in this Month's Race of Champions, beating out the likes of IndyCar driver Conor Daly and IMSA pit reporter Shea Adam.

Pairing with fellow Canadian James Hinchcliffe, Rzadzinski has been competing since 2001 in a variety of machinery, including open wheel, NASCAR and touring cars. He works as a software technician and most recently contested Canada's Nissan Micra Cup.

On the other hand, Glusman – the man who won the chance to race with Helio Castroneves – only began racing at age 25. Now 33, he has completed track days at classic European circuits Spa-Francorchamps and Donington in a Caterham and a Formula Ford.

The "ROC Factor" contest allowed for one North American driver and one Latin American driver – amateur or professional – to apply for the chance to race alongside the two respective drivers. The contest was open to anyone with a passport from the nations involved; 10 drivers each from North America and Latin America were selected for a vote on social media.

The January 21-22 event inside Miami's Marlins Park is the first Race of Champions to be held on American soil.

Hinchcliffe and Castroneves join a competition that includes Indianapolis 500 winners Juan Pablo Montoya, Tony Kanaan and Alexander Rossi, 2012 IndyCar champion and 2014 Indy 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay, 2014 Indy Lights champion and 2015 Indy 500/IndyCar Rookie of the Year Gabby Chaves, Ferrari F1 driver and four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, recently retired F1 driver Felipe Massa, nine-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner Tom Kristensen, World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg, NASCAR's 2015 premier series champion Kyle Busch and his brother, 2004 series champion Kurt Busch, action sports stars Travis Pastrana and double Globaly Rallycross champion Scott Speed.

Charitable proceeds from the event will benefit Racing for Cancer, a charity founded by Hunter-Reay, and the Division of Hematology-Oncology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami.
