Grosjean captures third Andros Trophy win
Haas F1 driver Romain Grosjean clinched his third win in the Andros Trophy ice racing series by capturing the Elite Pro round held at the Alpe d'Huez ski resort in southeastern France.
After winning the pole over the likes of Jean-Phillipe Dayraut and former F1 driver Olivier Panis for the weekend's second round, Grosjean and partner, 2015-16 champion Jean-Baptiste Dubourg, took the win for DA Racing. It was the first appearance in the series for Grosjean since 2014; he has raced in the series several times since 2009.
The third-place battle between Panis (who won the weekend's first round) and DTM driver Adrien Tambay led to a last-lap crash into the snow wall. Footage from L'Equipe TV showed the two in an altercation after the race with Panis apparently punching Tambay. Both drivers were excluded from race classification.
Dayraut, who finished second, continues to lead the Elite Pro standings.
