
F1: French GP set to return at Paul Ricard
The French Grand Prix appears set to make a return to the Formula 1 calendar, with reports in France pointing to a five-year agreement to hold a race at Paul Ricard.
Bernie Ecclestone told Reuters that he "thinks [the race] will happen", with a press conference about the event scheduled to take place in Paris on Monday.
France hosted the first-ever grand prix in 1906 and was a stalwart on the calendar for decades before losing its place on the schedule in 2008. It has since been the subject of several unsuccessful revival attempts, but according to French newspaper L'Equipe, a five-year deal has now been struck between local authorities and the French motorsport association that will secure the return of the sport's oldest event.
