IHRA: Partner Profile - AroundAruba.com
It's hard to believe it's already fall, and even harder to believe that winter is right around the corner. While many of the IHRA's partners won't help you get through the drag racing off-season, one will: the series' connection with the island of Aruba, created largely by the presence of the Aruba-sponsored Team Aruba, the Pro Stock driven by Aruba resident Trevor Eman, who narrowly missed earning his first season title this year.
TeamAruba.com's roots come from The Brute Racing on the island paradise of Aruba. The team is known for its tropical-themed paint job on their Ford Mustang and their palm tree-adorned pit area where they offer race fans information about Aruba. Team Aruba is the sole racing organization worldwide that, through drag racing, displays and promotes their island as a tourist destination in such a unique way.
Aruba, incidentally, is an island in southern Caribbean sea, located 18 miles north of the coast of Venezuela. The island measures 20 miles in length, six miles in width, its drier climate almost guarantees tourists a warm, sunny experience. Average high temperature in December is 86 degrees, average low is 77. It has one of the highest percentages of repeat visitors in the Caribbean.
The website AroundAruba.com showcases multiple activities on the island. But more than that: "Around Aruba truly believes in giving back to the community. We organize beach cleanups and sponsor the uniforms and safety equipment for local children's sports teams. We've built playgrounds for special needs children, and regularly visit sick children in the hospital, surprising them with gifts to cheer them up. We are the largest supporters of Philip's Animal Garden, a not-for-profit sanctuary and rehabilitation center for abandoned or abused exotic animals. We've even launched Adopt a Friend Aruba, which gives dogs and cats a second chance at being adopted."
Keep AroundAruba.com in mind – that first day you see snow falling.
