MOTOGP: Miller fit for British Grand Prix

Dutch TT winner Jack Miller has been passed fit to contest this weekend's British Grand Prix, meaning

Nicky Hayden will not return to MotoGP

as a stand in.

The Marc VDS rider sustained hairline fractures to his T6 vertebra and right wrist in a warm-up accident at last month's Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.

Although he had been given medical clearance to return for the Czech GP at Brno a week later, the decision was made to rest him to ensure he made a complete recovery.

But further tests were required at Silverstone today to ensure Miller was fit enough to return.

"After a medical assessment that showed significant improvement to the back injury, Jack Miller will ride in the British GP," said a team statement.

Hayden, who left MotoGP at the end of 2015 to race in the World Superbike Championship with Honda, was the likely stand-in had Miller not been fit.
