DTM: Green edges Paffett to take Zandvoort pole

Jamie Green will head an all-British front row for the second DTM race at Zandvoort as Audi bounced back to prominence in qualifying.

Green, whose Team Rosberg RS5 was the best-placed of the Ingolstadt manufacturer's cars in fifth place in Saturday's race, headed the ART Grand Prix Mercedes of Gary Paffett by 0.079 seconds.

Once again the times tumbled on the second runs, and Mercedes continued its strong weekend with Christian Vietoris, who topped the morning's free practice session, very close to Paffett's time in taking third position.

Vietoris will share the second row with the Audi of Edoardo Mortara.

Saturday race winner Robert Wickens made it three Mercedes drivers in the top five, having languished toward the bottom of the times on the first runs thanks to a mistake at the chicane.

Timo Glock is the leading BMW runner in sixth, just ahead of championship-leading stablemate Marco Wittmann.

Mercedes F1 test driver and Renault reserve Esteban Ocon continued his strong weekend by taking eighth in his Mercedes, with the Audis of Mattias Ekstrom and Nico Muller rounding out the top 10.

Audi's last-minute substitute Rene Rast managed to put his RS5 22nd on the grid, ahead of two of the Mercedes.

Maximilian Gotz went off on his first run and had a slow second effort, while Daniel Juncadella understeered off the track at the second of the two fast right-handers and ploughed into the gravel bed, causing a red flag and failing to set a lap time.
