LM24: Merhi replaces Stevens at Manor

Ex-Formula 1 racer Roberto Merhi will take the seat at the Manor LMP2 team vacated by Will Stevens for this month's Le Mans 24 Hours.

The Spaniard is contesting the World Endurance Championship in the Manor ORECA that doesn't have an entry for Le Mans and will now replace Stevens in the team's full-season entry following the Briton's move to the Jota-run G-Drive squad for the 24 Hours.

Merhi will line up in the British team's ORECA-Nissan 05 with Tor Graves and Matt Rao in the French enduro on June 18/19.

"I am very excited to be taking part in this great race that has so much history," said Merhi. "I'm really looking forward to racing with Matt and Tor and seeing what we can achieve together."

Merhi, Rao and Richard Bradley finished third in class in the Spa WEC round last month.

Stevens will return to the Manor line-up for the remainder of the WEC.
