3:54 p.m.: Alex Tagliani has exited the pits with about five minutes left in the session. He's able to get 10 laps in.

3:34 p.m.:Â Alex Tagliani's car is being pushed down pit road with 26 minutes remaining in practice.Â

3:25 p.m.:Â AJ Foyt Racing confirms a blown engine for Hawksworth, and that team is done for the day.

3:10 p.m.: Black smoke is seen coming out of Jack Hawksworth's car, and he pulls into the grass and jumps out of the car. The Holmatro Safety Team is taking a look at the back of the car. Replay shows a puff of smoke, sparks and a fire under the left rear of the car.Â

2:53 p.m.: Tagliani's team is hoping to have the 2011 Indianapolis 500 polesitter's car on the track in the next half hour. Â

2:23 p.m.: Troubles continue for Graham Rahal, who tweeted that his team needs to replace the left-rear upright. He had run 26 laps, with a best speed of 221.930.

2:22 p.m.: A total of 1,610 laps had been turned two hours into the session.
2:15 p.m.: Buddy Lazier finally got out of Gasoline Alley, leaving Alex Tagliani as the only driver yet to make an appearance.
Tagliani's AJ Foyt Honda crashed Sunday coming out of Turn 4 as he was about to begin his qualifying run, causing moderate damage.
2:12 p.m.: Stefan Wilson got shoved into the gray by Conor Daly but managed to avoid the wall. The same thing happened to another rookie, Max Chilton, a few minutes earlier going into Turn 3.

2:07 p.m.:Â Sage Karam is taking a breather from the action after turning 62 laps, with his fastest speed of 226.045mph.

1:30 p.m.: Â The first hour of Monday's practice looked like race day as drivers were dive-bombing each other at the end of straightaways and passing in the short chutes.
On the warmest day of the month to date, 31 of the 33 starters have taken to the track with Josef Newgarden still leading the way, followed by Tony Kanaan, Scott Dixon and Sage Karam.
Newgarden, who just missed winning the pole position and starts second this Sunday, topped 227mph in the Ed Carpenter Racing Chevy.
Target Chip Ganassi Racing struggled in qualifying, but Kanaan and Dixon are second and third fastest so far today, with speeds over 226mph. The Ganassi drivers will start 13th (Dixon), 16th (Charlie Kimball), 18th (Kanaan) and 22nd (rookie Max Chilton).
Karam is running 226mph-plus as well this afternoon. Karam will make his first start of 2016 and start his Dreyer & Reinhold Chevy in the 23rd spot.
Pippa Mann ias the quickest Honda at 225mph in her Dale Coyne entry.

1:03 p.m. Thirty cars have now taken to the track and the action is fast and furious. Josef Newgarden and Scott Dixon have both topped 226mph.

12:50 p.m.: A quick yellow flag is out for debris on the track.
12:30 p.m. ET: Drivers took to the track for the final practice opportunity before Carb Day festivities.
