FE: da Costa loses Long Beach pole

Antonio Felix da Costa has been stripped of his pole position and will start from the rear of the grid for today's ePrix at Long Beach after his car failed a post-race technical inspection.

The Team Aguri driver's car was determined to have been running below the minimum required tire pressure. His times from both the group qualifying and Super Pole sessions have been cancelled. He later reported that his left-rear had registered 0.05 psi below the mandated limit.

"That's the difference between having pole and starting with 17 cars in front of you," he said. "I wish there was some sort of tolerance permitted, but rules are rules."

Da Costa's disqualification hands pole to DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird, along with the three bonus points, and promotes Lucas di Grassi onto the front row to start alongside him. Championship leader Sebastien Buemi has been bumped up from eighth to seventh.
