V8: Mostert makes test return after injury
Chaz Mostert says he held up well on his return to V8 Supercars from injuries sustained during last year's Bathurst 1000.
The Prodrive Ford driver crashed heavily during qualifying for the race last October, breaking his left leg and wrist.
He missed the balance of the 2015 season, as team-mate Mark Winterbottom won the title, but returned to action in a test day at Winton on Monday, driving a brand-new Falcon.
The 2016 season starts with Clipsal 500 event in Adelaide on March 3-6.
"Great test day today," Mostert surmised. "I feel great in the car, I feel pretty comfortable in there, it's just like the old one. The body held up really well today.
"Super-pumped for Clipsal, I can't wait to get there; it's always a great event."
A total of 16 drivers turned laps at the circuit in north-eastern Victoria and Mostert set the day's third-fastest time, as Brad Jones Racing recruit Tim Slade led Holden Racing Team driver James Courtney.
Mostert is the second V8 Supercars driver to return from injury in as many weeks, after Craig Lowndes tested for the first time since breaking his collarbone in January.
