GP3: Leclerc back on top as Abu Dhabi test ends

Charles Leclerc was back on top on the third and final day of GP3 post-season testing in Abu Dhabi, heading the morning and afternoon sessions on Friday.

After spending day two with Arden, the Monegasque driver returned to ART Grand Prix – the team co-owned by his manager Nicolas Todt – for the final day having set Wednesday's pace with the French outfit. The Formula 3 European championship race winner worked his way down to the week's best time of 1m54.571s before the end of the afternoon.

Swiss Formula Renault 2.0 graduate Kevin Jorg was second to Leclerc in both sessions, driving for Arden. He was only 0.058s adrift in the morning, but more than two tenths away at the end of the day.

Briton Jake Hughes, also with Arden on the final day, took third having placed fourth behind ART's Alex Albon in the morning.

Euroformula Open racers Leonardo Pulcini and Konstantin Tereshchenko made the top five in the afternoon for Trident and Campos, respectively, ahead of Albon.

The test was the last action for the outgoing GP3 chassis before the GP3/16 is introduced next year.
