SCORE partner Oscar Ramos J. succumbs to cancer
Oscar Ramos Jassen (pictured at right, ABOVE, photo courtesy of SCORE) a Mexican attorney from Tijuana who has served as international liaison for over 20 years for the SCORE International desert racing organization, passed away on Thursday in a Mexico City hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for cancer.
"Oscar was just 52 years old, had been part of SCORE for 30 years and it seemed that he was holding on strong in his struggle with cancer," SCORE SCORE President and CEO Roger Norman said. "We extend our sincere condolences to his wife Maritza and son Oscar Jr."
Ramos played a major role in helping prepare the logistics and execution of this year's SCORE Baja race in the state of Baja Sur and was hospitalized several days after the race in Tijuana when the symptoms of his condition became apparent.
