IMSA: Watkins Glen testing open to the public

Wednesday-Thursday Session Free from Argetsinger Grandstand

Watkins Glen International will come to life Wednesday and Thursday with several IMSA teams testing in preparation for next month’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen weekend on June 25-28.

The testing will offer fans a prime opportunity to see the action from the free Fans R 1st Viewing Area, located at the Argetsinger Grandstand.

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen weekend showcases the four classes of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in a six-hour race, beginning at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 28. The event also serves as Round 3 of the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup, which brings together America’s four premier endurance races in a unique competition.

The weekend also featurres the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge in Saturday’s Continental Tire 150. Other races include two rounds each of Cooper Tires Prototype Lites powered by Mazda and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, and three rounds of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama.

Teams currently scheduled to test include Team Falken Tire (Walker Racing), Multimatic Motorsports, Stevenson Motorsports, Fall-Line Motorsports, One Motorsports, Courtney Musante Motorsports, JDC-Miller Motorsports, Kelly Moss and Tequila Patron ESM. Entries are subject to change.

All season long, the WGI Fans R 1st Viewing Area offers spectators the chance to witness the excitement of on-track activity free of charge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during non-spectator events.
