Moscow target for new Russian F3 car

The builders of the ARTTech P315 Formula 3 car have targeted a debut in the F3 European Championship's Moscow Raceway round.

ArtLine Engineering reports that the ARTTech passed a series of static and dynamic crash tests in late March, and has announced that the car has been deemed as compliant with F3 technical regulations. The Russian company hopes to have the car testing by the end of May, as it builds towards a projected late-August race debut at its home event.

ArtLine has continued with its centrally mounted exhaust concept, with which it has reached an impasse with the FIA. The disagreement is centered on what can or cannot be changed under F3 engine-homologation rules in order to make it possible to install its powerplant, which is expected to be the British NBE unit.

ArtLine has been told that the decision will rest in the hands of the stewards of the first race meeting the ARTTech contests.
