Kyle Larson was released from a Charlotte hospital on Monday night, although further medical evaluations will be required before the Target Chip Ganassi Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup driver is cleared to race again.
Larson was hospitalized after fainting following an autograph session at Martinsville on Saturday.
"After extensive testing and observation over the last few days, Kyle Larson was released from the hospital last night and has finished up final tests today," said a statement from Ganassi on Tuesday. "He is currently waiting for final doctor recommendations in order to clear him to return to all NASCAR-related activities."
NASCAR does not have a race scheduled this weekend, which gives Larson additional time to recover before a possible return at the next round at Texas on April 10.
The 22-year-old had already completed two practice sessions at Martinsville before he collapsed. Regan Smith was called up to replace him for the remainder of the weekend, and finished the race in 16th.
