Kasemets, Boden Return to Fall-Line Motorsports Lineup
Fall-Line Motorsports has solidified its lineup for next weekend’s Microsoft Visual Studio 150 at Sebring International Raceway.
With defending Grand Sport (GS) champion Trent Hindman set with Ashley Freiberg in the No. 46 IHG Rewards Club/Trim-Tex BMW M3, Tonis Kasemets returns to the team, joining Mark Boden in the No. 48 Calypso/Rytec Doors BMW M3.
Hindman and Freiberg opened the year with a fourth-place finish in the BMW Performance 200 at Daytona International Speedway.
A year ago, Hindman won the pole and led the opening 21 laps en route to finishing second at Sebring, co-driving with John Edwards.
“I think we’re looking pretty good,” Hindman said. “Both Ashley and I have been working hard, and we’re looking forward to going back there. I think we’re going to be solid. Daytona went very well. We had the lone BMW cars in the GS field, and it was a hard-fought race. Every pit stop was flawless, and we’ve got to do that for the rest of the year. I think we can definitely defend this title.”
Corey Lewis and Al Carter were entered in the No. 48 BMW at Daytona, but the defending race-winning car was eliminated in an incident during morning warm-ups.
Kasemets ran his first three Continental Tire Challenge races with Fall-Line in 2011, with his best finish fourth at Barber Motorsports Park, co-driving with Boden. He ran nearly two full seasons for Multimatic Motorsports racing Aston Martins beginning in 2012, when he won the GS pole at Watkins Glen and finished third at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
“Driving with Fall-Line and Multimatic, I’ve driven for the best two teams in the series,” said Kasemets. “Mark and I are both from the Chicago area, so we’ve known each other for a while.
“I love Sebring,” added Kasemets. “It’s a great place with a lot of history. Fall-Line cars are contenders in every race, so I expect them to be contenders. No doubt, the team is going to do a great job preparing the car, and hopefully we will do a good job together.”
Boden’s only start in 2014 was at Road America. His career spans 63 races dating back to 2006, with eight podium finishes. His best season was in 2013, when he won back-to-back races at Watkins Glen and Indianapolis co-driving with Bryan Sellers.
