Mopar Road Ready Defensive Driving for Teens Program this weekend in Pomona

Over 5,000 teenagers lose their lives each year across the country in traffic accidents. This staggering number of fatalities can be reduced.

Mopar is collaboratively working with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Motorsports Museum and B.R.A.K.E.S (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe), two nationally recognized non-profit 501(C)(3) organizations that share similar missions of promoting the importance of safe and responsible driving.

The three organizations have put together an advanced driving program called "Mopar Road Ready," designed to teach safe and defensive driving techniques. Sponsored by The Chrysler Foundation and supported by Mopar, the program dedicated to training and educating teenage drivers will be available to those between the ages of 15-19 with a learner's or driver's license and at least 30 hours of driving experience.

The program covers four segments: 1) Defensive driving w/evasive lane changes, ABS braking and skid control. 2) Police presentation - effects of impaired and distracted driving, mock sobriety tests, Q&A. 3) Essential car care – tire safety, proper seating and mirror positions, distracted driving. And 4) Understanding clearance and visibility – big rig visibility, obstructed views, etc.

Four half-day sessions will be offered at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., THIS WEEKEND, February 14-15.

If interested, one can register using the following link. The class is free. There is a $100 deposit that is returned when you show up.
