IMSA: Starworks adds Audi’s Albuquerque to PC lineup
Audi factory driver Filipe Albuquerque will replace Enrique Bernoldi in Starworks Motorsport’s No. 8 PC entry this weekend at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The Portuguese driver contested the event in 2014 as part of the manufacturer’s GTD effort, and will share the team with former teammate and LMP1-H rival Brendon Hartley, who drives for the Porsche factory and will pilot Starworks’ DP entry.
“We had one spot to fill and looking at the best drivers available with Daytona experience, everything pointed to Filipe to help us win a Rolex watch,” Starworks owner Peter Baron told RACER. “It’s one of those years where we know we can win, and we wanted to pull out all the stops, so having Filipe in the PC car with the strong driver lineup already there will be a big boost for our chances.”
