1964 Sebring 12 Hours - Winners Dave MacDonald & Bob Holbert in Cobra Daytona Coupe CSX2287
Dave MacDonald & Bob Holbert co-pilot the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe to its first-ever victory in the 12 Hours of Sebring held March 21, 1964. This is CSX2287, one of six Coupes ever made, and the only one built entirely in the United States. MacDonald and Holbert drove the Peter Brock-designed Coupe to a 1st in GT and 4th overall finish here at Sebring.
This was a milestone victory for MacDonald, too, as it would distinguish him as the man who drove each of the legendary Shelby Cobras – Cobra Roadster 260ci, Cobra Roadster 289ci, King Cobra, KIng Cobra Lang-Cooper & the Cobra Daytona Coupe – to their first victories.
