PWC: Series hires Marcus Haselgrove as new competition director

The Pirelli World Challenge Series has hired Marcus Haselgrove (LEFT) as its next director of competition.

Haselgrove is widely respected within the North American sports car scene, and leaves his position as Audi Sport Customer Racing North America's manager and engineer for its R8 support program to assume his new role.

Haselgrove replaces

Geoff Carter, who left PWC last week

after three seasons as its competition director. The Englishman's background includes time spent with the Champion Racing Audi ALMS team, Autohaus Motorsports, B-K Motorsport, and APR Motorsports, among other programs, where his interaction and expertise with data acquisition, vehicle dynamics, racecar development, race engineering, and management should ease his transition to PWC where all of those skills will be required.

Audi Sport Customer Racing North America technical director Brad Kettler confirmed Haselgrove's departure and said "It's a big loss for me, and I wish him nothing but the best."

Reached by RACER on Tuesday, Haselgrove was unable to comment on his move to PWC. An official announcement on Haselgrove's appointment is expected later this week.
