Ferrari Academy driver Stroll tipped for F3
Ferrari looks set to have two of its proteges racing in the Formula 3 European Championship next season.
Canadian Lance Stroll, who won this season's Italian Formula 4 Championship in his rookie year of car racing, is increasingly likely to join two-time Euro F3 race winner and fellow Ferrari Driver Academy member Antonio Fuoco at Prema Powerteam.
Stroll, who is 16 next week, recently had his first F3 test in a Prema Dallara-Mercedes at Fiorano. He was out again with Prema at Hockenheim on Monday, where he was joined by fellow F4 racer Brandon Maisano.
Stroll is the son of Canadian fashion industry billionaire Lawrence Stroll, who has been rumored to be trying to buy into an F1 team and has been reported to have been in talks with the Sauber, Marussia and Lotus teams this summer.
Frenchman Maisano competed in Italian F3 in 2011-'12 and has already tested with Prema in Euro F3 this fall at Vallelunga and the Red Bull Ring.
Prema team manager Rene Rosin would only say "maybe" when asked whether Fuoco, Stroll and Maisano would be part of the squad's F3 lineup in 2015.
