Ferrucci dominates final Brands Hatch F3 race

Santino Ferrucci scored the second victory of his one-off weekend in the British Formula 3 Championship at Brands Hatch in dominant fashion, winning by almost 10 seconds.

The 16-year-old American, who is a regular in the Euro F3 series, burst ahead of pole-sitting Fortec Motorsport teammate Martin Cao – winner of the second race of the weekend triple-header – into Paddock Hill Bend at the start, and the Chinese driver had no answer to his ever-increasing pace.

Cao's compatriot Peter Li ran a strong third in the early stages, but the Carlin driver failed to appear out of the countryside of the verdant Grand Prix circuit loop on the seventh lap. That promoted Matt Rao to complete another Fortec podium sweep, the Briton losing further ground to points leader Cao in the title chase.

Dan Wells managed to get ahead of Double R Racing teammate Camren Kaminsky on the dash into Paddock at the start, pulling away after the first few laps to take a solid fourth place.

Max Marshall brought up the rear in a race that was shortened from 30 minutes to 25.
