"Sound of Honda/Ayrton Senna 1989" wins Cannes Festival awards
Honda's film "Sound of Honda / Ayrton Senna 1989" has been awarded the "Grand Prix," the highest award in the Titanium and Integrated Lions category of the 61st Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. In total, the film won 15 prizes.
The short film, which features a 3D recreation of Senna's qualifying lap at the 1989 Japanese Grand Prix in his McLaren-Honda MP4/5, has over 3.5 million YouTube views so far!
And here's the reality, with a comparo onboard of Senna's lap with that of McLaren teammate Alain Prost. Senna ends up 1.7 sec quicker!
