IMSA: Digital engagement grows with content enhancements
Through its evolving digital platform, IMSA continues to offer additional ways to follow on-track action from its premier TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
The fans have responded, as the IMSA.com website recently reached 1 million unique visitors and 10 million page views since Jan. 1. On average, fans are spending 18 minutes on the site with 41 percent of visitors being new.
Video content has been one of the main draws with fans viewing more than 100,000 hours of TUDOR Championship video content since the beginning of the year. This has largely been driven by the availability of full race broadcasts within 24 hours of the race.
Video content on IMSA.com is further enhanced on race weekends with live streaming of qualifying and a pre-race show available to all visitors through the integrated Race Central hub. At this weekend's Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers, Race Central will stream TOTAL Pole Award qualifying today at 5:25 p.m. ET. The live stream will feature FOX Sports broadcast cameras and live commentary from broadcaster Greg Creamer.
Justin Bell will help kick off race day with an IMSA.com pre-race show Saturday at 11:30 a.m. ET in advance of the 100-minute race on the Belle Isle street circuit. Once the green flag flies, Race Central will include live in-car camera feeds during the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic, a live Motor Racing Network radio feed, live timing and scoring, and up-to-the-minute Twitter updates. Fans in Europe, Asia and Africa also will receive a live stream of the race telecast.
"IMSA.com was designed with our fans first, so we are excited that they continue to seek out the website as the place to find fresh, exciting IMSA content," said IMSA Vice President, Marketing David Pettit. "We will continue to listen to our fans in order to build our digital platform for the future."
