Verstappen aims for F3 Masters race
Formula 3 rookie Max Verstappen is hoping to contest the Zandvoort Masters race in July.
The race is being run predominantly for cars from British and German F3 this season, as teams from the F3 European Championship have to be en route to the following weekend's Moscow Raceway round.
While Verstappen's regular Van Amersfoort Racing Dallara will therefore be in transit to Russia, he is hoping to contest the race his father Jos won in 1993. VAR also runs a team in German F3, but the team's drivers – Caterham F1 junior Weiron Tan and Briton Sam MacLeod – reportedly both want to contest the Zandvoort race.
"We are still discussing how we can do it," said Verstappen. "But I would like to race there for sure!"
Masters organizers are confident of around 16 cars, with possibly more to come.
