Oriola gets late-season WTCC seat
Last year's Marrakech World Touring Car race winner Pepe Oriola will return to the championship for the final three rounds of 2014 in China, Japan and Macau. The Spaniard will drive a Campos Racing TC2 class SEAT Leon.
Oriola first campaigned the model in the WTCC in 2011, before switching to a Tuenti Racing Chevrolet Cruze in the second half of last year.
"Despite having many offers on my desk, I did not want to leave WTCC," said Oriola, who will also act as a driver coach during the season for Campos's European Touring Car Cup drivers, Ukrainian Igor Skuz and Russian Nikolay Karamyshev.
"With Campos Racing I have the opportunity to remain active in the championship, bringing my experience to the team and its drivers."
Campos has also announced a late deal with reigning European Touring Car Cup winner Petr Fulin to race in this weekend's WTCC season opener in Marrakech.
The 37-year old from the Czech Republic will be at the wheel of one of the team's TC2 SEAT Leons, alongside French teenager John Filippi.
