Indian GP practice delayed, shortened

The final free practice session for the Indian Grand Prix has been delayed and shortened because of visibility problems.

Shortly before the scheduled 11am start of the one-hour session, race organisers announced that there would be a 15-minute delay because of morning mist shrouding the Buddh International Circuit.

This meant that the medical helicopter would not have been able to fly in the event of an emergency.

There was little improvement in that period, so another 15-minute wait was called soon afterwards, although this was then shortened to five minutes instead.

With Formula 1's regulations demanding that there be two hours between the end of final practice and the start of qualifying, it means practice three will now be just 40 minutes long.
