Suarez stays with Spire for 2027 Cup Series
Spire Motorsports announced Tuesday that it has signed Daniel Suarez to a contract extension through the 2027 season. Although it is a one-year extension, there is an option to continue the relationship beyond that.
Suarez made the Chase in his first season with the organization, driving the No. 7 Chevrolet, and won the rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 in May. The team has earned seven top-10 finishes, which is the second-best of the three Spire Motorsports drivers, and Suarez has led 42 laps. He is 14th in the championship standings as the season winds down.
Spire Motorsports is being represented in the Chase for the first time in company history through Suarez and Carson Hocevar. The duo also delivered a company highlight when they swept the front row at the Brickyard 400 in July.
It has been one of Suarez’s best Cup Series seasons. To date, the Mexican is working on putting together his best overall average start (14.3) and average finish (15.2). Suarez made the move to Spire Motorsports after five seasons at Trackhouse Racing, in which Suarez felt things changed through the years and the partnership had reached its end.
“We haven’t seen the best of Spire Motorsports yet,” Suarez told RACER in April, “and that’s the most exciting part for me.”
