Kennedy, Jacir secure Ligier JFC poles at VIR
Edward Kennedy topped the Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC) Gen. 2 class qualifying charts. Setting a fastest time of 1m56.337s, Kennedy (No. 30 MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422) outpaced Jack Speth (No. 07 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) who will line up second in class.
In the Ligier JFC Gen. 1 class, Beckham Jacir (No. 7 Stonica/Bell/OMP/P1DOKS/Behind the Wheel/Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4) led the way with a 1m57.210s lap. Lazaro Bainotti (No. 11 Fundacion Fangio Rus seguros Cordoba deportes/Speed Factory Ligier JS F4) was second quickest on the provisional speed charts, but will start at the rear of the field after having his lap times deleted due to a technical violation. Instead, Ava Hanssen (No. 26 One Powersports/Chiropractic Center of Elkhorn/NGK/Badger Mats Ligier JS F4) will line up on the outside pole, with Ella White (No. 52 Berg Racing Ligier JS F4) and Alexander Savage (No. 33 KymaBoats.com/Triple Aim Medical Solutions/Nature Coast Health Care/G Tech Motorsports Ligier JS F4) completing Row 2 behind them.
In the series’ sole practice session on Friday morning, Kennedy set the pace in the Gen. 2 class with a 1m56.755s lap, while Bainotti led the Gen. 1 cars with a 2m00.093s lap.
The lights go out for Ligier JFC’s first race of the weekend tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. ET.
