AJ Foyt Racing's Schuh takes next single-seater steps with FR Oceania Trophy entry

AJ Foyt Racing development driver Aidan Schuh is set to take his next steps in single seaters this January by competing in the Formula Regional Oceania Trophy series in New Zealand.

The 23-year-old currently competes in Formula Regional Americas for Crosslink, which partnered with AJ Foyt Racing earlier this year to support its driver development program. Schuh began his racing career in 2025 after competing in downhill mountain biking and earned his first FR Americas podium in September at VIRginia International Raceway.

Driving in the FR Oceania Trophy series, which will use a new generation of Formula Regional cars for its 2027 season, will give Schuh a valuable opportunity to compete against an international field during the North American offseason.

“My goal is to adapt quickly to the car, the tracks and the competition and to continue to develop as a driver throughout the championship in New Zealand,” said Schuh.

“I want to maximize each session, become more competitive each weekend and put myself in a position to fight for strong finishes and podiums. Racing with Kiwi Motorsport in New Zealand will be another step in the right direction.”

Kiwi Motorsport team owner Garry Orton is looking forward to having the American driver in one of his cars for the four-round championship.

“I’m excited to bring Aidan to NZ," said Orton. "His growth in 2026 has been fantastic with massive improvement. Aidan is part of the AJ Foyt Racing junior program and I’m honoured to be tasked with looking after him in NZ. It’s going to be a fantastic learning experience for him.”
